Load Testing

Though a comparable dome (compared to stick frame of the same floor area) uses less material, it is verifiably stronger.  Dome structures have always had incredible strength and an ability to withstand incredible forces.  The panels built into an unsheathed dome and used in the construction of Lexa products, were proven to withstand extreme seismic and load forces at the University of British Columbia’s Earthquake Research Facility.  24 tons were eventually applied to the top of the unsheathed dome and it did not collapse which was the point of the failure test.  The test was halted to protect the facilities machinery so the actual fail or break point of the unsheathed dome was never achieved.
